Slow fashion and decor through the art of nuno & wet felting.

Along my fiber exploration

It began with a need to create and a move across the country to be closer to Maine and the place that gave me structure and strength. Maine, with its beautifully rugged coastline, has always drawn me back and inspired me creatively.

I was introduced to wet felting in 2011 with the daunting task of making a pair of mittens. Many pairs of mittens and other projects later, I’ve learned there are many variables to take into consideration when making a felted garment. Much experimentation and trial and error has occurred in my studio since those first mittens, and my esthetic and style have become distinctly my own.

Continued exploration

As I move into the second decade of my felting practice, I continue to explore new ways of using felt to further elevate my craft. I love the textures you can achieve by using different materials along with the merino wool I favor and the many different results that can be created. The recent purchase of a sewing machine has opened many new avenues of exploration and design ideas for me. I’ve started to make my own felted fabric, and the results from recent projects have been exciting. I’m drumming with ideas for future work and larger finished pieces. Stay tuned…
